Forming the business in 2014, Billy started in Northwest as a one-man team. However, after growing from strength to strength into one of the most trusted and reliable roofing contractors in Scotland, Billy has now assumed the role of Managing Director, overseeing a team of just over 30 employees.

Billy started in the trade in 1994 where he became an apprentice roofer for a local roofing contractor in Milngavie. This is where he learned all aspects of the trade which allowed him to move onto various other roofing contractors over the years gaining invaluable experience along the way. His eagerness to learn and drive to become his own boss allowed him to start his first roofing business back in 2007 which he sold in 2014 eventually to then start up Northwest. He oversees all day to day operations and is very involved and passionate about the development and progression of the business as a whole as well as the team. His main goal is for Northwest to reach its maximum potential as he believes there is always room for growth and development.

Scott joined the business in 2018 and has 24 years’ experience in roofing industry and has held every position from Apprentice to Director over his 24 years in the industry.

With a wide knowledge of traditional roofing and rendering, Scott also has over 20 years’ experience with specialist roofing and render products and projects.

Scott has also been a driving force in our safe systems of work and product training with an ongoing safety committee with a continued safety/product training plan to improve our service delivery and upskilling of all our site, office, and management team.

Robert joined our team in June 2020 and since then has excelled from his roofing position to a now senior manager and an invaluable member of the team. Robert has aspirations to become our safety manager and will soon be going through his NEBOSH training to help him achieve his goals.

Gary joined the team in 2018 as a roofer and quickly became a senior manager showing great work ethic and is another invaluable member of the team. Gary has aspirations to lead the Northwest roofing estimating department and take it to the next level with improving our surveying section and driving it forward to help cope with our growing demand of estimates and surveys.

Jade is the middle woman between our clients and estimating team, supplying quotations and invoices as well as any other handover documentation as and when required. As one of our longest serving employees, Jade has over 15 years’ experience within her role and is currently undertaking training to support the company evolution as well as for personal development.

Lorraine is our operations manager. My role includes managing our accounting system, credit control, and the company's invoice mailbox, addressing all customer and supplier account queries. I compile health and safety documents, accreditation submissions, and manage the CITB account alongside Scott or the Operational Director. As well as all KPIs and internal reports for our weekly management meetings. I raise all planned works and update relevant trackers with dates and information about the work.

I joined the company with experience managing a national maintenance and security company. I have over 10 years of experience in the roofing industry, gained from my previous role. Since joining Billy and the team, we've collaborated to leverage our combined knowledge and experience to improve our processes and drive business growth.
